The Lorentz factor in the expression of the integrated intensity of a Bragg reflection is examined by taking account of the instrumental resolution of a two-crystal neutron diffractometer. If there is a collimator just before the detector, the Lorentz factor deviates considerably from the form commonly used, except for the case of θ-2θ-scan in which the expression of common use is exactly correct. The case of the filter-monochromatized X-ray diffraction is also investigated for comparison.
