We demonstrate strong exciton-photon coupling in a microcavity containing the red-emitting organic phosphor 3,7,8,12,13,17,18-octaethyl-21H, 23H-porphyrin platinum(II). We investigate the structure under both resonant and nonresonant cw excitations. Green polariton photoluminescence is observed in both cases. Peaks corresponding to uncoupled phosphorescence and polariton emission are observed in the photoluminescence excitation spectrum of the microcavity. A Rabi splitting of 470.3em0exmeV is obtained. The role of intersystem crossing and the possibility of using strong coupling to affect the exciton relaxation dynamics are investigated and discussed.
