A case of extramedullary plasmacytoma of the colon is presented. This rare tumor should be included in the differential diagnosis of space-occupying lesions of the large bowel. Its relationship to multiple myeloma is uncertain. Some extramedullary plasmacytomas are apparently capable of paraprotein production. This was not observed in this case and is an area needing further investigation. Eosinophilic intranuclear inclusions, similar to those previously reported in multiple myeloma and macroglobulinemia of Waldenström, were present.
