With the increasing penetration of power electronic devices in the power system of the more-electric aircraft (MEA), the stabilization of the onboard power system meets a great challenge. To alleviate the issue, in this paper, a fixed-time sliding mode controller (FTSMC) is proposed for a voltage source rectifier (VSR) interfaced MEA power system. The adoption of the fixed-time convergence observer (FTDO) technique allows the disturbances to be estimated within a fixed-time. As a result, system dynamic performance is improved. The proposed FTSMC guarantees a fixed-time convergence of the DC bus voltage to its expectation. In addition, a reduced-order model of the VSR is derived to simplify the design of the proposed control strategy. A strict stability analysis is carried out to show the large-signal stability of the regulated system, and some simulation, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test and hardware experimental results are demonstrated to validate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.
