Enantiomers with free hydroxy groups are easily separated on peptide phases such as Chirasil-Val using well-deactivated glass capillaries. Even one hydrogen bond with the stationary phase can lead to satisfactory discrimination of the enantiomers. This technique can be applied to chiral active substances such as 1, which is used as a suicide substrate for the inhibition of hormone production in parasites (R CH2F).
