In this research, we aimed to identify key events from technological and marketing perspectives in the context of cultured beef. To this end, we adopted a 10-year time horizon (2025-2035), identified 10 key variables with theoretical support from sociotechnical systems, and validated these propositions with industry experts, exploring future scenarios. We highlight that around 40% of consumers trust that, when legally sold, cultured beef will not pose risks to human health. We showed that developed countries recognized for their traditional cuisine are less likely to accept cultured beef than developing economies. We note the tendency for this biotechnology to be integrated into the global value chains of multinationals in the food sector, whose investments aim to enable its large-scale production. Finally, this research provides an opportunity to examine the various dimensions and interfaces of the sociotechnical system of cultured beef and to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in conventional livestock farming.
