This document performs a full structural dismantling of OpenAI’s preprint“Finite-Time Blowup for the Euler Equation.” The original paper claims toconstruct smooth, compactly supported initial data for the 3D incompressibleEuler equations whose solution blows up in finite time. The construction istechnically formidable, relying on oscillatory packets, transported frames,rank-one shears, Gevrey factorial bounds, and a multi-generational parent/childiteration that resembles a cathedral built around a single oscillation. The dismantling reconstructs the architecture of the proof and exposes theload‑bearing beams: the rank‑one shear \[M(t,0) ≈ h\, q\, pT,\] the transported packet geometry \[m_t = -MT m, v_t = -M v + 2\, m\,m· Mv/|m|^2,\] and the engineered pressure‑Hessian increment \[Δ Hlead= -2α\,χ_1\, (m· Mv)\,m⊗ m/|m|^2\, f_δ'(θ),\] whose negative semidefinite structure is manufactured by choosing a profilewith \( f_δ'(0) = δ⁻¹ \). Each section of the dismantling examines a different part of the machinery:the amplification mechanism, the oscillatory packet, the geometric alignment, the scale choices, and the limiting argument. The tone is mathematicallyserious, structurally honest, and occasionally amused by the sheer amount ofnotation required to make Euler misbehave.
