Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a progressive respiratory disorder characterized by persistent airflow limitation and chronic inflammation. In addition to pulmonary impairment, COPD is associated with systemic complications, including serum electrolyte disturbance and cardiovascular abnormalities, which contribute to increased morbidity and mortality.
