This report summarizes current understandings of the flaked stone technological traditions of Early Agricultural period (2100 BC to AD 50) populations in the borderlands region of southern Arizona and northern Sonora. Some aspects of flaked stone technology exhibit linear trends from the San Pedro though Late Cienega phases, while projectile point design changes significantly from phase to phase. Together, these patterns are used to explore the complex social dynamics that accompanied an increasing commitment to agriculture and long-term settlements.
