Roux-en-Y gastric bypass with a silicon ring banded vs. Control group (no surgery) was evaluated on Excess body weight loss (EBWL%) at 1 year postoperative. Roux-en-Y gastric bypass achieved 81.7% excess body weight loss at 1 year, with significant resolution of comorbidities and sustained improvements in general health and functional capacity.
