Transthoracic echocardiography is a non-invasive, repeatable diagnostic tool that, when combined with transesophageal echocardiography, provides precise information on cardiac function for perioperative management.
Why the study?
Transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) is the fundamental echocardiographic technique used perioperatively, but its development and application for anesthesiologists require clarification.
Transthoracic echocardiography is a fundamental, non-invasive tool that, when combined with transesophageal echocardiography, enhances perioperative cardiovascular management.

Akamatsu et al. (2011) conducted a review in Perioperative management of cardiac disorders. Transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) was evaluated. Transthoracic echocardiography is a non-invasive, repeatable diagnostic tool that, when combined with transesophageal echocardiography, provides precise information on cardiac function for perioperative management.
