Undocumented Student Allies and Transformative Resistance: An Ethnographic Case Study

Everybody is kind of scared to touch this issue… Because it's the site, this political debate at the institutional level.We are the site of political debates… So, on the one hand, we have the real tragedy of students: the real precarious Angela Chuan-Ru Chen is the Director of Pre-Health Dreamers, an advocacy organization for increased access to health careers and health care for the undocumented community.Most recently, Angela worked as the Director of the Undocumented Student Program at University of California, Los Angeles, which served over 500 undocumented students, spawned new programs, and built resources across campus departments to better serve this population.Her institutional advocacy also includes leading University of California system-wide efforts to increase awareness about policies that impact undocumented students and guiding universities across the nation to develop support programs for undocumented youth.
