May support spinal anesthesia after desmopressin in select vWD cesarean cases; leaves open need for prospective validation.
Jacob et al. (2015) conducted a case report in von Willebrand disease requiring emergency cesarean delivery (n=1). Spinal anesthesia and intranasal desmopressin was evaluated. Spinal anesthesia was administered for emergency cesarean delivery in a patient with assumed type I or II von Willebrand disease following intranasal desmopressin prophylaxis.
