A relation between the spatial weighting function for voltage fluctuations in the presence of a magnetic field and weighting functions determined in the absence of a magnetic field on four-probe resistors is demonstrated. The tensor character of conductivity fluctuations is shown to have a significant effect on the ratios of measurable fluctuations. The results are intended for use in determining the sources of 1/f noise in semiconductors.
