‘One-pot’ reaction procedure for the synthesis of a new series of novel 2-morpholino-N-(4,6-diarylpyrimidin-2-yl)acetamides (19–27) by the reaction of 4,6-diarylpyrimidin-2-amines (1–9) and chloroacetyl chloride with morpholine in the presence of heterogeneous NaHSO4·SiO2 catalyst under microwave irradiation in ‘dry media’ is developed. The advantages of this environmentally benign and safe protocol include a simple reaction set-up, high product yields, short reaction times, and the elimination of solvents. Further more, the catalyst can be recovered and reused up to six times, making this methodology an economic and attractive greener one.
