A flight mill was developed that uses magnetism to support the pivot, thereby minimizing friction, and a simple harness, adjustable in 3 planes, was designed for use with the mill. The performance of male and female Anastrepha Uidcns (Lowe) (Diptera: Tephritidae) on rotors of different lengths attached to this mill was then compared. There was no significant difference between male and female performance on the 4 rotors, and little between the performance of both sexes on rotors of different lengths.
