A new complex molecular spectrum has been observed under high resolution in the blue-green region. The molecule responsible has been identified as FeH, for which no spectrum has, up to the present, been reported. A King furnace was used in the experiments, and observations were made in both emission and absorption. Comparison of the laboratory wavelengths with those in the revised Rowland table shows many coincidences with weak unidentified solar lines, especially lines which either are enhanced in the sunspot spectrum or are observed only in the spot.
