SUMMARYAmong 18 species of hypogeous fungi collected in Mexico, Genea asperula, Melanogaster umbrinigleba, and Rhizopogon michoacanicus are described as new species. Gautieria chilensis and G. mexicana are re- described from study of the types. Nearly all the other species represent first records for Mexico: Phycomycetes, Endogone fulva; Ascomycetes, Elaphomyces granulatus, E. reticulatus, Geopora cooperi f. cooperi and Tuber murinum; Basidiomycetes, Hydnangium carneum, Hymenogaster farinaceus, Hysterangium separabile, Leucogaster magnatus, Melanogaster ambiguus var. ambiguus, Rhizopogon sp., Rhizopogon ochraceorubens, and R. subbadius. One specimen of R. ochraceorubens was infected by Sepedonium chrysospermum.
