Sulphur Distribution between CaO-SiO2-TiO2-Al2O3-MgO Slag and Carbon-saturated Iron at 1 773 K.

In this paper, the slag-metal equilibrium experiments were performed to investigate the effect of Ti02 concentration in the slag and basicity (R=wtoloCaO/wtoloSi02) on the sulphur distribution ratio (Ls) between CaO-Si02-Ti0215010Al203-8oloMgOslag and carbon-saturated iron at 1 773 K. Sulphide capacities (Cs) were calculated based on the sulphur distribution ratio.The sulphur distribution ratio and sulphide capacity of CaO-Si02-Ti02-1 5o/oAl203-80/0MgO stage increase with increase of basicity and with decrease Ti02 Con- centration in the slag.The relationshlp between sulphide capacity of slag and optical basicity was also investigated.The experimental results are useful for smelting vanadium titaniferrous magnetite of blast furnace.
