Key result
Percutaneous and open Achilles repair with structured physical therapy restores tendon continuity in ~100% of patients.
Why the study?
Scoliosis progression in children increases pressure on the cardiovascular system, requiring evaluation of physical exercise effects on cardiovascular dynamics.
Does a complex program of physical exercises affect cardiovascular system parameters in children with scoliosis?
Cohort (n=46)
No
Does a complex program of physical exercises affect cardiovascular system parameters in children with scoliosis?
A complex of physical exercises significantly increases aerobic capacity and alters cardiovascular hemodynamics in children with scoliosis, suggesting the need for individualized rehabilitation plans.

Supports either repair technique plus PT for full tendon restoration in this cohort; leaves open generalizability and long-term durability.
Dychko et al. (2024) conducted a cohort in Achilles tendon rupture (n=46). Percutaneous surgical repair and physical therapy vs. Open surgical repair and physical therapy was evaluated on Restoration of normal function and tendon continuity. Both percutaneous and open surgical repair of Achilles tendon ruptures, followed by a structured physical therapy program, resulted in complete restoration of tendon continuity and remodeling in all patients.
