Acute pityriasis lichenoides et varioliformis acuta (PLEVA), also known as Mucha-Habermann disease, is a self-limiting inflammatory dermatosis characterised by an abrupt onset of polymorphic lesions, including scaly erythematous papules, vesicles, haemorrhagic necrosis and ulceration, often leaving varioliform scars. This case series reports four male patients with PLEVA who achieved significant improvement after oral apremilast therapy.
