Chemical Constituents of the Marine Sponge Axinyssa sp.from the South China Sea

AIM:To study the chemical constituents of the marine sponge Axinyssa sp.aiming at searching for new bioactive substances.METHODS:The Et2O extract of Axinyssa sp.was subjected to silica gel and Sephdex LH-20 column chromatography,affording four pure compounds 1-4,whose structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic analysis and by comparison with the data reported in literature.RESULTS:Four known compounds were isolated and identified as theonellin isothiocyanate(1),theonellin formamide(2),7-isothiocyanato-7,8-dihydro-α-bisabolene(3),and axinysterol(4),respectively.CONCLUSION:Compounds 1-3 were isolated from marine sponge Axinyssa sp.for the first time,and were also isolated from Chinese marne orga-nism for the first time.
