In the same group vesicoureteral reflux was noted to occur 3.4 times more commonly in white than black girls. This suggests that the prevalence of reflux in black girls is at least 10 times less than in white girls and should influence our indications for recommending urinary tract evaluation in black girls. © 1982 by The American Urological Association Education and Research, Inc.FiguresReferencesRelatedDetailsCited ByPohl H, Joyce G, Wise M and Cilento B (2018) Vesicoureteral Reflux and UreterocelesJournal of Urology, VOL. 177, NO. 5, (1659-1666), Online publication date: 1-May-2007.PINTO K (2018) Vesicoureteral Reflux in the Hispanic Child With Urinary Tract InfectionJournal of Urology, VOL. 171, NO. 3, (1266-1267), Online publication date: 1-Mar-2004.CHAND D, RHOADES T, POE S, KRAUS S and STRIFE C (2018) Incidence and Severity of Vesicoureteral Reflux in Children Related to Age, Gender, Race and DiagnosisJournal of Urology, VOL. 170, NO. 4 Part 2, (1548-1550), Online publication date: 1-Oct-2003.HOROWITZ M, GERSHBEIN A and GLASSBERG K (2018) VESICOURETERAL REFLUX IN INFANTS WITH PRENATAL HYDRONEPHROSIS CONFIRMED AT BIRTH: RACIAL DIFFERENCESJournal of Urology, VOL. 161, NO. 1, (248-250), Online publication date: 1-Jan-1999.Selzman A and Elder J (2018) Contralateral Vesicoureteral Reflux in Children With a Multicystic KidneyJournal of Urology, VOL. 153, NO. 4, (1252-1254), Online publication date: 1-Apr-1995.Rushton H and Majd M (2018) Pyelonephritis in Male Infants: How Important is the Foreskin?Journal of Urology, VOL. 148, NO. 2 Part 2, (733-736), Online publication date: 1-Aug-1992.Allen T, Arant B and Roberts J (2018) Commentary: Vesicoureteral Reflux—1992Journal of Urology, VOL. 148, NO. 5 Part 2, (1758-1760), Online publication date: 1-Nov-1992.Peppas D, Skoog S, Canning D and Belman A (2018) Nonsurgical Management of Primary Vesicoureteral Reflux in Complete Ureteral Duplication: Is it Justified?Journal of Urology, VOL. 146, NO. 6, (1594-1595), Online publication date: 1-Dec-1991.Skoog S, Belman A and Majd M (2018) A Nonsurgical Approach to the Management of Primary Vesicoureteral RefluxJournal of Urology, VOL. 138, NO. 4 Part 2, (941-946), Online publication date: 1-Oct-1987.
