This new study of Sangatte Pleistocene deposits, justified by the first digging-works of the Channel-Tunnel, is based on a detailled stratigraphical approach and completed by the micromorphological analysis of the pedostratigraphical level-marks. It has resulted to put in evidence a third glacial-interglacial cycle in the top of the raised beach cover deposits. Those new data induce to bring-up again the problem of the Sangatte raised beach age, wich could be contemporary of the upper part of the Herzeele Formation, attributed to Holsteinian and the stage 9 of deap sea records.
