A novel series of flavazoles 3a-1 were synthesized via dehydrative cyclization of a new series of 3-[(α-arylhydrazono)-aroylmethyl]quinoxalin-2(1H)-ones 2a-1 and their biological activity has been evaluated. The tautomeric structure of the precursors 2a-1 has also been elucidated.
