Results are presented from studying epitaxial thin strontium iridate films with compositions Sr2IrO4 and SrIrO3 prepared via laser ablation and direct current cathode sputtering, respectively. Data are given on the technology of growth, crystal structure, and electrophysical parameters. The energy of activation for dielectric Sr2IrO4 films with few defects is calculated.
