P-wave vector graphical back projection correctly localizes focal atrial tachycardia origins in 100% of cases.
Why the study?
A new technique is needed to locate the sites of origin of focal atrial tachycardias from standard 12-lead electrocardiograms.

Does a graphical back projection method using 12-lead ECGs accurately locate the sites of origin of focal atrial tachycardias?
A simple graphical back projection method using standard 12-lead ECGs shows promise for noninvasively estimating the origin of focal atrial tachycardias prior to ablation.
A 2016 study conducted an observational in Focal atrial tachycardias (n=19). Graphical back projection of P wave vectors vs. Intracardiac mapping (actual site of earliest endocardial activation) was evaluated on Correct localization of the focal atrial tachycardia origin within approximately 1 cm of the actual site. Graphical back projection of P wave vectors correctly identified the foci of atrial tachycardias within approximately 1 cm of the actual site of first activation in 19 out of 19 cases.
