Charge-conservation model proposed by Lcutert and McDonald has been widely used to calculate the electrical conditions in the wire-plate electrostatic precipitator, but the arbitrary selection of the wire roughness factor in the Peek's formula limits its application. To address this issue, we propose charge-current-conservation model and solve it by the control-volume method. Numerical experiment shows that the predicted electric potentials agree well with the existing experimental data
