This note details post‐mortem shrinkage in 23 Black Guillemot wings. Most shrinkage occurred within 2 months and there was no further significant change in wing length after 12 months, when wings were an average of 1.5% shorter than their original lengths. No significant differences in variance or mean wing lengths were found between measurers using the maximum flattened chord technique.
