This study presents a simple but efficient approach to generate microwave vector‐vortex beams based on the metasurface composed of quasi‐periodic aperture‐coupled patch elements. We demonstrate that the vector‐vortex field with or without spiral phase can be achieved by changing the polarization of incident wave. Moreover, the spiral phase and/or polarization angle of produced vector‐vortex beams can be manipulated by tuning the topological charge τ. Results obtained using the commercial software CST Microwave Studio 2012 are presented to verify our methodology.
