The antihepatotoxic activity of ethanol extract fractions of Thespesia populnea administered orally to groups of rats was evaluated using the CCl4 model of liver injury. All fractions showed significant activity. A rare flavanoid, quercetin-7-O-rhamnoglucoside, was isolated from this plant and its identity confirmed by spectral studies.
