The surface properties of the support profoundly affect the performance of the catalyst. In order to guide the rational design of catalysts, we took typical support alumina as an example and systematically studied the influence of Pt/Al 2 O 3 catalyst morphology on the dehydrogenation reaction of methylcyclohexane (MCH) by synthesizing a series of Al 2 O 3 with different morphologies. Under a comprehensive comparison across multiple dehydrogenation temperatures, the petal‐shaped layered Pt/Al 2 O 3 catalyst exhibits better performance than other Pt/Al 2 O 3 catalysts. At 350°C and WHSV = 23.1 h −1 , the MCH conversion rate of the catalyst was 95.1%, and the hydrogen production rate was 383 mmol·gPt −1 ·min −1 . In the 100 h stability test, the performance was stable, with a conversion rate loss of about 0.05%/h. Therefore, precise adjustment of the growth of the support and control of its microscopic characteristics can significantly improve the hydrogen production efficiency of the catalyst in the MCH dehydrogenation reaction.
