Magnetic properties of 0-π Josephson junctions have been calculated from the sine-Gordon equation. The results show that the paramagnetic Meissner effect (PME) recently discovered in some high- T c superconductors can only be partially explained by the existence of π-junctions and 0-junctions. A significant difference between PME and the properties of the junctions is found in the field dependence of magnetization, which is constant for the former but decreases with increasing field for the latter.
