Summary This paper investigates the finite‐time stabilization problem for a class of nonlinear systems with time‐varying delay. Under suitable assumptions, a new state feedback control law is designed by using the adding a power integrator technique. By constructing an appropriate Lyapunov‐Krasovskii functional, it is shown that the corresponding closed‐loop system is finite‐time stable. Two simulation examples are given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
