The nuclear waste management has been using various methods as treatment techniques in converting radioactive waste (RW) into an amenable form for disposal in an optimized way. Diglycolamide based solvent, such as TEHDGA, is widely studied in recent past for extraction of lanthanide and actinides from radioactive liquid waste. In the present study, extraction behavior of TEHDGA solvent was studied in a pulsed column and a flooding characteristics curve was generated. The effect of operating parameters, such as air reservoir pressure, pulse amplitude, pulse frequency, organic phase flow rate, and aqueous phase flow rate on flooding was studied. The concentration profile of different elements, such as Ce, La, and Nd, is plotted along the length of the column and mass transfer efficiency was determined at different operating conditions. Equilibrium curves for extraction and stripping was generated, and the height of transfer unit and number of transfer unit values for extraction and stripping were determined.
