The R.B.E. of 60 Co Gamma Rays with Respect to 300 kVp X-rays for the Survival of HeLa S-3 and CHO Cells, Irradiated in Different States of Proliferation

SummaryThe r.b.e. of 60Co radiation with respect to 300 kVp X-rays was measured in two cell-lines whose normal rates of proliferation varied by a factor of 2, and values were also obtained in stationary-phase cultures. No significant influence of proliferation rate on r.b.e. was observed, in contrast to a previous finding in bone-marrow.
