Objectives This scoping review explores how infertility influences sexual practices and behaviors in heterosexual couples and how this relationship is addressed in the literature. Methods A systematic search was conducted in PubMed, Web of Science, and Scopus for peer-reviewed studies. Eleven studies were included and synthesized narratively. Results Infertility is associated with reduced sexual frequency, increased timing of intercourse around the fertile window, and a shift toward reproduction-focused sexual activity. Spontaneity and sexual diversity tend to decline, with vaginal intercourse becoming central. Conclusions Infertility appears to reshape sexual behavior, but evidence remains limited.
