In this paper, kinetic viscosities of the phosphoric acid + tributyl phosphate + methyl isobutyl ketone, and + aviation kerosene systems with the content of P 2 O 5 in the range of (0 to 17) % and temperature from (10 to 50) °C were presented. After data processing, kinetic viscosities were found well-correlated with temperature and concentration of P 2 O 5, which can be demonstrated by linear regression equations. According to those equations, kinetic viscosities of the phosphoric acid + tributyl phosphate + methyl isobutyl ketone were compared with those of phosphoric acid + tributyl phosphate + aviation kerosene systems. The results showed that the dilution effect of methyl isobutyl ketone was better than that of aviation kerosene under the same temperature and concentration of P 2 O 5 . In addition, the concentration of P 2 O 5 in the tributyl phosphate + methyl isobutyl ketone system can be higher than that in the tributyl phosphate + aviation kerosene system without any three-phase situation. So, there are many advantages for purifying wet-process phosphoric acid by solvent extraction with tributyl phosphate + methyl isobutyl ketone.
