The authors demonstrate the capability of the Mark III VLBI system for pulsar astrometry. Their observations of the pulsars PSR 0329+54 and PSR 1133+16 yielded their respective celestial coordinates (J2000.0) for the epoch 1981.21 in the reference frame determined by VLBI observations of compact extragalactic radio sources: α = 03h32m59s.3484±0s.0005, δ = 54°34arcmin43arcsec.663±0arcsec.005 for PSR 0329+54; and α = 11h36m03s.2756±0s.0021, δ = 15°51arcmin02arcsec.65±0arcsec.23 for PSR 1133+16. The uncertainties represent the root-sum-square of the statistical standard deviations and the errors associated with the authors' estimates of the uncertainties of the values assumed for other parameters related to atmospheric delays, Earth orientation, and source structure.
