The development of water splitting catalysts with high performance and stability has always been a challenge. To improve the tolerance of water splitting catalysts to fluctuating power supply, Ni 3 S 2 is introduced through pulse electrodeposition after NiFe LDH is synthesized via electrodeposition. The overpotential required for OER are 210 mV and 250 mV, and for HER are 67 mV and 139 mV at current densities of 10 mA cm −2 and 100 mA cm −2 . Furthermore, the overall water splitting performance is improved. The Ni 3 S 2 /NiFe LDH/NF electrode exhibits good stability under both fluctuating and constant current supply tests. It shows excellent stability against intermittent power supply cycling. This work provides a direction for developing catalysts that can tolerate intermittent energy input in practical scenarios.
