Cholesteric liquid crystals (CLCs) continue to attract significant attention due to their potential applications in tunable photonic devices. In this study, we investigated the optical properties of CLCs under oblique incidence of light. To analyse the optical characteristics, we used Berreman’s method, which is a matrix approach to solving Maxwell’s equations. The unique properties of such structures were revealed, including the existence of a resonant transmission line under oblique incidence of light at grazing angles. This system can be used as a narrowband filter with a widely tunable operating wavelength.
