This article examines the methodological potential of artificial intelligence (AI)-based modular learning for enhancing the pluricultural competence of translation students. Pluricultural competence is interpreted as the ability to mobilize linguistic, cultural, pragmatic and reflective resources when mediating meanings across culturally different contexts. The study adopts a conceptual methodological design based on theoretical synthesis, comparative analysis and pedagogical modelling. It integrates the Council of Europe’s plurilingual/pluricultural perspective, the European Master’s in Translation competence framework, translation-competence research, intercultural competence theory and recent guidance on responsible AI use in education.
