Two new C15-nupharidines compounds (1, 2), named (−)-nuphamic acid and (−)-nuphamine-11-O-β-D-glucopyranoside, together with two known analogues (3, 4), were isolated from the rhizomes of Nuphar pumila. Their structures were determined by analysis of spectroscopic data, including HRESIMS, 1D and 2D NMR, as well as calculated and experimental ECD data. In vitro evaluation of protein tyrosine phosphatase-1B (PTP1B) activity revealed that compound 1 inhibited the enzyme with an IC50 value of 25.6 ± 7.6 μM.
