Key result
Resolute zotarolimus-eluting stents show sustained low rates of repeat revascularization and thrombosis at 5 years.
Why the study?
Long-term follow-up data on the safety and efficacy of the next-generation Resolute zotarolimus eluting stent are limited.
Observational
Yes
The Resolute zotarolimus eluting stent demonstrates favorable long-term performance at 5 years with low rates of repeat revascularization and stent thrombosis.
The Resolute zotarolimus eluting stent (ZES) is a next-generation durable polymer, thin-struts drug eluting stent. Although several randomized and observational studies have proven its safety and efficacy, long-term follow-up data are still limited. This prospective, multicenter, single arm study, showed favorable 5-year outcomes in patients undergoing Resolute ZES implantation, with considerably low rate of repeated revascularization and stent thrombosis. Data on long-term performance of next-generation drug eluting stents are of paramount importance to adequately inform decision-making in contemporary clinical practice.

Chiarito et al. (2020) conducted an observational in Patients undergoing Resolute ZES implantation. Resolute zotarolimus eluting stent (ZES) was evaluated on Repeated revascularization and stent thrombosis. Resolute zotarolimus eluting stent implantation demonstrated favorable 5-year outcomes with low rates of repeated revascularization and stent thrombosis.
