This study aims to identify the actual state of outdoor advertising installations and extract the elements shop owners seek in outdoor advertising, thereby clarifying the factors to the proliferation of disorderly outdoor advertisements in shopping districts. Survey results revealed that as the number of advertising materials increases, there is a tendency to demand more diverse and distinctive advertising materials. The study also showed that while the method of installing movable advertisements is a common issue, there are differences in the desired shapes of outdoor advertisements and the specific issues to be discussed depending on the type of shopping district.
