: Spiral high-strength steel wires (SHSSWs) are widely used in cable-carrying bridges, the surface of the spiral steel wires under the erosion of the environmental meson erosion pits are randomly distributed features. To reveal the influence mechanism of random corrosion pits on the tensile strength of SHSSWs, this paper carries out 3D scanning on the surface of corroded high-strength steel wires of existing bridges, and constructs a probability model of the depth, length and width of corrosion pits of high-strength steel wires of bridges in service. On this basis, a numerical model of SHSSWs considering random corrosion pits is established based on Boolean algorithm, and the effects of different corrosion pit morphologies on the static strength of SHSSWs are discussed. Electrochemical corrosion and static load tests are carried out for verification. The stress distribution characteristics inside the corrosion pits are revealed and the stress concentration coefficients (SCF) at the corrosion pits are calculated.
