This study proposes a novel strategy to enhance the seismic performance of self-centering precast concrete frames (SCFs) by incorporating a newly developed double-stage coupling damper (DSCD). A nonlinear truss-element numerical model of the DSCD was implemented in OpenSees, and a simplified yet accurate model suitable for efficient modeling and analysis of complex structures was further developed. Numerical models of 4-, 8-, and 12-story structures were established for three structural configurations: SCF, SCF with buckling-restrained braces (SCF-BRB), and SCF with DSCDs (SCF-DSCD). The friction-yield ratio ( R ), a key DSCD design parameter, was systematically investigated for its influence on seismic performance. Nonlinear quasi-static and dynamic analyses were conducted to investigate the seismic response from the elastic and elastoplastic states to the collapse state. Moreover, a reliability-based probabilistic seismic fragility analysis was employed to obtain the fragility function curves of the structures. The seismic capacities of the SCF, SCF-BRB, and SCF-DSCD systems at various performance levels were evaluated, providing a quantitative basis for structural safety assessment and decision-making.
