Tourism wellbeing scholarship has increasingly drawn on positive psychology frameworks to explain how tourism experiences support psychological wellbeing. However, this research is yet to be explicitly applied to disability-inclusive tourism contexts. Subsequently, this research note applies the DREAMA theoretical framework (detachment–recovery, engagement, affiliation, meaning, and achievement) to conceptualise how accessible tourism conditions may shape the activation of psychological wellbeing dimensions within disability-inclusive tourism. In doing so, the paper extends theoretical understanding of how psychological wellbeing emerges through disability-inclusive tourism experiences and identifies directions for future research.
