Virtual Sawing Technical Reference provides an applied-mathematical, computational, and data-interface guide for growth-topology-based virtual sawing of lumber. It complements, rather than replaces, the scientific formulation and canonical computational core of Growth-Topology-Based Virtual Lumber I.The reference develops a connected workflow from two-dimensional annual-ring geometry through Fourier representation, three-dimensional growth surfaces, chronology fields, growth-surface normals, local \(LRT\) frame construction, board-coordinate transformations, and field inheritance to board-level annual-ring traces and projected grain directions. It also introduces computational topics relevant to inverse reconstruction, sensitivity analysis, identifiability, uncertainty quantification, numerical verification, and reproducible scientific software.A central contribution is an explicit Parent-Log-to-Board data contract organized around three reference objects:\[ParentLogRecord+BoardSpec.\]The contract specifies provenance, coordinate and unit conventions, board pose and extraction modes, scalar/vector/frame/tensor inheritance rules, surface observables, verification requirements, mechanics-ready handoff, and archival storage conventions. The reference includes analytical benchmark problems, executable numerical examples, regression tests, and synthetic three-dimensional demonstrations. These examples verify the implementation of the stated mathematical models but are not intended as validation against the full complexity of real wood structure. The intended audience includes wood scientists, computational mechanics researchers, graduate students, and researchers working with image-based geometry, inverse problems, digital reconstruction, and reproducible scientific modeling.
