Recognition of Half-Integer Order Vortex Beams Using Convolutional Neural Networks

In this paper, we investigate the possibility of determining the order (both whole and half-integer) of an optical vortex beams based on the application of convolutional neural networks. To improve recognition results, we use paired patterns of vortex beams: intensity distribution in the focal plane with and without astigmatic transformation.
